If you can't tell, we're on a bit of a Cimicifuga kick right now! This great plant was discovered in the garden here. It is a running form of Cimicifuga japonica that thrives in very deep shade. It spreads slowly and in deep shade can have leaves that are 6-10 inches wide and a lovely dark green. It's a great tall ground cover and looks great planted en masse in a large deep-shade area.

Zones 4-7. Foliage 12-20 in., flower stems 3-4 ft. Shade to part shade, moist rich soil.
