Hillside Nursery is located in the Hilltowns of Western Massachusetts. I began working at Hillside during the 2005 season after an introduction to plants and propagation at the New England Wildflower Society (now, Native Plant Trust). I fell in love with these beautiful plants immediately, and have enjoyed working with and learning about them ever since.
Hillside Nursery was started back in the late 80s by Peter Joppe as a passion project. He quickly went from growing for himself to creating a catalog that he took around to local garden centers. He began selling plants online in the early 2000s. Working for Peter in those early years, I remember with much fondness hand writing shipping labels for our first intrepid online customers.
Peter is now retired and I am excited to continue our work. Rest assured, not much will change. You will continue to receive the high quality service and plant material that you have come to expect from Hillside Nursery. I look forward to working with you all in the future!
