Part-time Nursery Production Assistant

Hillside Nursery is a woman-owned business located in Ashfield, MA that grows woodland wildflowers and specialty plants. We are seeking a dependable, hard-working individual with a keen interest in plants to join our team. Work is 15 to 25 hours per week, and involves all elements of nursery work. We will train the right person.

Specific tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Transplanting, dividing, potting and planting plants

• Mixing soil

• Collecting and sowing seed

• Weeding and watering

• Moving and organizing flats of plants

• Preparing and packing plants for shipping

• 2-3 Weekend days for off-site plant sale events

• Gardening, mowing, weed whacking

• Winterization of the nursery.

This position requires the ability to lift at least 40 pounds, work outside in all weather conditions, and most importantly, a good attention to detail and organizational skills.

15 - 25 hours per week seasonally, end of March through the end of November.

$16 - $18/hour based on experience, plus end of season performance-based bonus.
