Though rare and protected in the wild, this native is easy to grow in the garden. In spring, it is a prolific bloomer and it may flower again later in the season. Cheery yellow flowers on thick stems sit atop a neat mound of glossy foliage. A very likeable plant! Eastern North America.

Zones 4-8. 12-16 in. Part shade, moist-to-wet soil. Appreciates lime.
