This is an introduction that we've been working on for a number of years. It popped up in a batch of Cimicifuga japonica 'Cheju Island.' It is a striking plant that is more compact with shiny emerald-green leaves. Could make a nice low growing ground cover when planted en masse or a beautiful specimen plant in the front of your shade border.

Zones 4-7. Foliage 8-10 in., flower stems 2-3 ft. Shade to part shade, moist rich soil.
