Orders: 

  • Spring: This spring we will be shipping plants on the weeks of:
    • April 5th    (to midsection zone 5-6)
    • April 12th   (to the colder northern zones)
    Please note: If your order arrives before the ground is ready for planting, the plants can be held in your fridge for a week or so. Due to the demands of our spring regional wholesale business we are not able to ship plants after these dates.
  • Fall: Fall is our main shipping season and is the time that we have the largest selection of plants available. Over the years we have found fall to be a great time to ship and plant lady-slippers and the other woodland wildflowers we offer. At this time these spring-blooming plants are completely dormant and easily settle into their new homes.

  • Orders may be placed by using our secure Online Shopping Cart or you may use a printable order form

  • We are not able to take orders by telephone (operators are not standing by).

  • We will send a confirmation of your order by e-mail or postcard.

  • If you wish to add to an existing order, simply place another order via our secure Online Shopping Cart or the printable order form and indicate in the "Special Instructions" box that this is an addition to an existing order. When you do so, we will combine your orders and charge the lowest applicable shipping and handling charges.

Payments: Payment must accompany your order; this reserves your plants. We accept checks, money orders and credit cards (Master Card or Visa). Credit card orders can be placed using the shopping cart system or with a printed order form and sent by mail. If you pay by credit card, your card will be charged when you place your order. If an order cannot be filled due to unforeseen circumstances, you will receive a refund during the shipping season. If you wish to cancel your order before it is shipped, just let us know and we will send you a refund at that time.

Availability:  Current up-to-date availability is posted on our website. There is always a chance that circumstances may intervene (nature has its own way), changing what is actually available.

Shipping:  Hillside Nursery will ship plants anywhere in the U.S. except Hawaii.  Sorry, no foreign sales.  Normally plants are sent via US Priority Mail, but sometimes use UPS. We mail plants early in the week to facilitate delivery before the end of the week. Please indicate your street delivery address on your order form.

Shipping and Handling Charges: 

  • $16 for orders under $100
  • $20 for orders $101 to $200
  • $25 for orders $201 to $300
  • $30 for orders $301 to $400
  • $40 for orders over $400

Shipping Dates:  For Spring 2010 - April 5th and April 12th.

When Plants Arrive: Plants are sent bare-root and dormant, ready to be planted in the garden.  Planting instructions will accompany your order.  If necessary plants can be kept for a week or two in the refrigerator if you need to wait until conditions are right for planting.

Guarantee:  Hillside Nursery plants are guaranteed to arrive healthy and in good condition, true to name and as described in our plant list.  While we cannot guarantee your plants beyond this point, we're always interested in knowing about your experience with the plants you get.  If there are problems with the plants you receive, please notify us in the first few days after you receive the order.
